L’Urgence de Ralentir / The Invisible (R)evolutions by Philippe Borrel (90′)
Mon. 14th, 5pm at Godrej India Culture Lab (Vikhroli)
In the global era, speed and short term have become the rule in our societies. Stressed out by the technological and financial acceleration, we are trying to keep up a rhythm which will end in predictable ecological, economical and social disasters.
The documentary “L’Urgence de Ralentir” (“The Invisible (R)evolutions”) by the French director Philippe Borrel recounts stories about citizens of the world who have chosen not to give in to this norm of immediacy. Individually or collectively, they experiment with local and concrete alternatives to the traditional concept of growth at any cost and rhythm. Every day, in Europe, South-America or India, they work to give back meaning to “Time”.
The screening will be followed by a conversation with the film director Philippe Borrel.
