Nov 27 (Wed) to Dec 10 (Tue), 3pm to 6pm, Sir JJ College of Architecture
In partnership with Des Châteaux en l’air, Sir JJ College of Architecture, Région Grand Est, Strasbourg City in France, The French Institute in India, and the Embassy of France in India; we present SHELTER – a participative installation inspired by the concrete and philosophical experience of the 19th Century American Author Henry David Thoreau.
The installation is created on site by inviting the general public to interlock cardboard modules of identical shape and size without using tape or glue. Thus, an imaginary and ephemeral city takes shape over time which offers a chance to reflect on how people inhabit the world. No prior training is necessary – anyone and everyone can participate and join in this collaborative construction. Several events will be organised within the framework of the participative installation.
SHELTER is part of Cabanes – a global project by the company Des Châteaux en l’air that which aims to offer the audience new ways of creating dialogue. The company itself is the brainchild of Ramona Poenaru (Multimedia Artist and Performer) and Gaël Chaillat (Actor and Theatre Director) who develop projects (include performances, devices, installations, and events) that hybridize their different artistic disciplines.
