Based on the film by Marguerite Duras with the same title, this is the story of a love affair that takes place in India in the 30s, in an overpopulated city on the banks of the Ganges. Two days in this love story are presented — It is the season of the summer-monsoon. The woman, Anne-Marie Stretter, stands in the midst of it with a grace which engulfs everything, in unfailing silence, a grace which is porous and dangerous, dangerous also for some of them…

GEET – TAAR & TAAL
Alliance Française de Bombay in association with the Quebec Government Office in Mumbai and Consulate General of Canada and is proud to present a unique music project — Geet-Taar & Taal.
This exclusive music project piloted by AF Bombay will be touring 9 cities in India!
The music concert features Nadaka, the creator of the 24-string ‘Geet-Taar’ (guitar) instrument, joined by two excellent Indian classical musicians: Ilyas Khan, who plays the ancient bowed instrument Sarangi and Chandrashekar Gandhi on Tabla.
Nadaka was born and raised in Québec City and began playing the guitar at a very young age. Following his passion & love for music across the world to India, Nadaka has designed and crafted a unique instrument of his own, a 24-string Raaga Guitar specially designed to play the subtle tones of Indian music that he often also likes to call the “Geet-Taar” (singing strings)
This Raaga Guitar combines musical elements of the veena, swarmandal, tanpura, and even guitar; into one.
