semainde de la francophonieHalf a billion Francophones around the world will celebrate International Francophonie Day on 20 March. This event began in 1998 as a way for the 49 members of Francophone countries to celebrate their common bond, the French language, as well as their diversity. The International Organisation of La Francophonie represents one of the biggest linguistic zones in the world. Its members share more than just a common language. They also share the humanist values. The French language and its values represent the two cornerstones on which the International Organisation of La Francophonie is based.

This year, Alliance Française along with the Consulates of Belgium, Quebec, Switzerland, Canada, Luxembourg and France will unite to honour French language values in a week-long festival bringing you films and music from the French speaking world.
