All our courses are designed on the Common European Framework of Reference for Language (6 levels).
As per the recommandations of this worldwide used framework, they are communication and action based. By choosing the Alliance Française, you will be taught by a dedicated team of French as a Foreign Language qualified teachers and certified examiners.
Learners are able to acquire oral and written communication skills, comprehension and expression skills, through communicative tasks. Learners are active, they develop observation and reflection abilities, all learning strategies which will lead them progressively to autonomy. Our teaching is based on modern tools, efficient techniques, which encourages self-development and active learning.
COURSES FOR BEGINNERS
A1 – BEGINNER / FALSE BEGINNER
For absolute beginners or for students who have a school/college knowledge in French but can’t converse. This course gives you a limited ability in French.
A2 – ELEMENTARY
This course gives you a basic ability in French. You can understand sentences on familiar matters.
INTERMEDIATE LEVEL COURSES
B1 – INTERMEDIATE
This course gives you a limited but effective command of the language.
B2 – UPPER INTERMEDIATE
This course gives you an effective command of the language.
ADVANCED LEVEL COURSES
C1 – ADVANCED
C2 – MASTERY
At the end of the each level the candidates can sit for the DELF examination (diploma provided by the French Ministry of Education).
If you are not already one of our students and can not provide an authorised certificate of you current French proficiency level, you will need to take a placement test in order to register in any course other than A1.
