Alliance Française de Bombay is excited to bring the 2nd edition of the crime fiction project — Noir in Mumbai to Mumbai on 27 October – 29 October 2023. After its successful launch in 2022, Noir in Mumbai: Urban Investigation Game will take place on 29 October, where participants will get to solve ‘The Mystery of the Hidden Bird’!

Designed as a literary investigation, the investigative game will introduce participants to iconic cultural spots in the city while solving the mystery of the hidden bird. The participants start at Alliance Francaise de Bombay, and move across iconic cultural spots, while picking up clues from each of the spots and trying to uncover the truth.

A one-of-a-kind urban investigation, conceptualized by Mumbai-based author and filmmaker, Piyush Jha. Participants will have 2 hours to unravel the mystery and stand a chance to win 2 Vistara return tickets to Paris!

The event is organised by Alliance Française de Bombay (AF Bombay) and the French Institute in India (IFI), in collaboration with Tata Literature Live! The project is inspired by the crime fiction festival — Quais du Polar that is organised every year in Lyon, France.

ABOUT NOIR IN MUMBAI

Noir in Mumbai premiered in India in November 2022, as part of the Tata Literature Live Festival. Headed by the French Institute in India and Alliance Francaise de Bombay, this one-of-a-kind project in Mumbai aimed at creating an enriching literary and cultural Franco-Indian experience for all mystery aficionados. The series of events brought popular French crime literature authors to Mumbai for panel discussions, film screenings and not to forget, the first Urban Investigation Game: Kala Ghoda Mystery, written and conceptualised by the author Kalpana Swaminathan.
