Film 1: LANDFILLS OF DESIRE

About the film: Landfills of Desire is a short experimental film set on Dal Lake in Kashmir. It follows the figure of the Rantas, a creature from Kashmiri folklore, who floats through the night, carrying with her the weight of untold stories. Neither alive nor entirely dead, she haunts memory, not space. The film doesn’t attempt to explain her. Instead, it sits with her, allowing her presence to unravel slowly through fragments of image, sound, and voice.
