Les Chatouilles by Andréa Bescond et Eric Métayer (102′)

Trigger Warning : Sensitive Subject Matter. Viewer discretion is advised.

Oscillating between the past and present, the film looks at how a young girl, Odette, is groomed and abused by a family friend. The effects are far-reaching as the adult Odette struggles to comes to terms with her past through dance and therapy. The story plays itself out through her memories – we are offered just enough glimpses to confirm her story but never more. Through dance and the spoken word,  Odette is able to tell her own truth in an ode to the restorative powers of the Arts and through an unflinching exploration of abuse and therapy.
