The cattle herder Kidane lives peacefully with his wife Satima, daughter, and shepherd in the dunes near Timbuktu. In the city, people suffer under the Jihadists with each day bringing new sentences. Kidane and his family are spared the chaos but their destiny is about to change abruptly.
