Les jardins publics by Vuillard (1874)
Un dimanche après-midi à la Grande Jatte by Seurat (1884-86)
La Montagne Sainte-Victoire by Cézanne (1887)
Les jardins publics cycle is made up of nine panels, commissioned in 1894 by Alexandre Natanson for his mansion in the Avenue du Bois, in Paris. Un dimanche après-midi à la Grande Jatte is a leading example of pointillist technique, executed on a large canvas. La Montagne Sainte-Victoire is based on an actual mountain overlooking Aix-en-Provence in Southern France which became the subject of a number of Cézanne’s paintings.
