Mes provinciales by Jean-Paul Civeyrac (137′)

An impressionable young cinephile leaves his working-class home in Lyon and goes to study film in Paris. With its pared-down aesthetic and grounded naturalistic performances, the film is about young intellectuals who spend their days smoking, sitting around cafés, and arguing about art and politics.
