In 2005, the Guggenheim museum in New-York launched an exhibition focusing on Daniel Buren, one of the most prominent artists of his time.

The preparation for the exhibition represents the framework for the film: We can see the artist taking possession of the spaces in the museum, transforming them with his  installations.
