Novembre Numérique – the digital cultures festival of France
This month, the entire network of Alliances Françaises in India is celebrating the digital art festival “Novembre Numérique”, an initiative by the Institut français to promote digital cultures every year in November. It highlights the variety of French digital creation in its various forms (virtual reality, augmented reality, digital art, video games, and many more) and facilitates access to new technologies and creators.
Join us in exploring the various possibilities of innovative artistic content all through the tiny devices in our hands. AF Bombay opens its doors to everyone to experience this immersive virtual festival!
Date: 14 Nov – 30 Nov
Venue: Alliance Française de Bombay
Piafs
An augmented reality experience
Errratum and Maison Tangible invite artists from different backgrounds to humorously sketch the clichés around Parisians. A hipster blackbird, ducks at Aquaboulevard or a swallow drinking coffee on the terrace… through Piafs!, the artists imagine multiple ways of seeing city dwellers.
Around an innovative and easy-to-use device for the visitor, the exhibition proposes to travel in colourful and magical graphic universes, intended for young and old children. Under the prism of augmented reality, each visual comes to life thanks to the Maison Tangible application available free of charge on smartphone and tablet.
The group exhibition in augmented reality Piafs! is imagined by Maison Tangible (publishing house) in collaboration with Errratum (contemporary illustration journal), based on an original idea by Amaël Isnard, Emmanuelle Leleu and Benjamin Flouw, and presented by the Electroni[k] association.
La Petite Danseuse
An augmented reality experience
The Little Dancer at the Musée D’Orsay is an augmented reality experience in which Edgar Degas’ Little Dancer brings children along a fantastic journey through artworks displayed in the musée d’Orsay.
Her playful silhouette strolls around paintings, drawings, sculptures and many other magical worlds created by artists, looking onto them with a naive and enchanted gaze.
In this experience in co-production with the Musée d’Orsay, the dancer has fallen for young imperial prince Eugene. In order to bring him to life and free him from his frozen sculpted world, she must go from painting to painting, among the renowned masterpieces in art history, and gather the ingredients of a magic potion…
