Delphine and Carole by Callisto McNulty (70 minutes long)

The portrait of 1970s enchanted feminism, the film retraces the encounter of actress Delphine Seyrig and director Carole Roussopoulos in 1974, their creative and disruptive use of video, their radical actions and incisive humour.

Maman Colonelle by Dieudo Hamadi (72 minutes long)

Colonel Honorine worked in Bukavu’s police force for years as part of the Child Protection and Anti-Sexual Violence Unit – highly regarded for its effectiveness and the confidence it was able to restore in the community. But when she is transferred to Kisangani, she must start again from scratch. Shortly after arriving in her new post, dozens of victims of sexual violence from the 6-Day War between Rwandan and Ugandan troops land in her office. Thus begins a new challenge for the Colonel who is determined to fight for the recognition and support of these women.

Paris 1900 by Nicole Vedrès (82 minutes long)

A chronicle of life in Paris between 1900 and 1914 using documents from the time and excerpts from over 700 films, often hailed as a shining example of how to edit films. Alain Resnais worked on the film as assistant director and production supervisor.

Dans ma tête un rond-point by Hassen Ferhani (100 minutes long)

The film offers a behind-the-scenes look at a slaughterhouse in central Algiers thereby allowing a glimpse into the working lives of its male employees. With humor and candor, the film’s subjects address what are often generationally specific issues: the plight of the Kabyle people (an ethnic minority in Algeria), the Arab Spring, migration to Europe, and even how to know you’re in love with a girl. Save for one scene, the film is safe for those made squeamish by animal death.
