East West Cultural Association (EWCA) is an association in existence in Mumbai since the last 34 years, for the promotion of cultural exchange between India and France through stay in Indian and French families. B J Karani (fondly known as Babubhai) founded EWCA in the year 1980. Besides, he was the chief central coordinator between the 7 different centres of the cultural exchange program all over India and the French counterpart, Perspective Asiennes. He has also been on the committee of Alliance Française de Bombay since 1983. Babu Karani bid farewell to this world in January 2014 leaving behind a huge legacy to follow. tween India and France through stay in Indian and French families.
EWCA and the other centres in India and France will be paying a tribute to Babu Karani in collaboration with Alliance Française de Bombay, by showcasing a documentary on him and on the cultural exchange activities.
This will be followed by a screening of an internationally famous film, Les Choristes, by Christophe Barratier
