Half a billion Francophones around the world will celebrate International Day of Francophonie on 20 March. This event began in 1998 as a way for the 49 members of Francophone countries to celebrate their common bond, the French language, as well as their diversity. The International Organisation of La Francophonie represents one of the biggest linguistic zones in the world. Its members share more than just a common language. They also share the humanist values. The French language and its values represent the two cornerstones on which the International Organisation of La Francophonie is based.

This year, Alliance Française along with the Consulates of Belgium, Quebec, Switzerland and France will unit to honour French language values in a week-long festival bringing you films from the French speaking world.
