9 am sharp on 29th Sept (Sat)

Meeting Point – Jehangir Art Gallery

The walkthrough is intended to resonate with the painter S. H. Raza’s own life at various levels. The places covered during the tour were frequently visited by the artist during his lifetime. Furthermore, the idea of a ‘tour’ was essential to the way Raza travelled physically and intellectually across different terrains. This special guided walk conducted by Alisha Sadikot of Art Walks Mumbai will visit the places that Raza frequented during his early years in Mumbai.

This walkthrough will be in English and is being organised in partnership with Piramal Museum of Art. It is part of a special series ‘Connect the Dots’ wherein the museum investigates collecting practices of institutions and individuals in the decades following Independence, and the role they played in building the careers of artists such as S. H. Raza, M. F. Husain, F. N. Souza and several others.

Free and open to everyone | Limited seats | Registration compulsory and strictly on a first-come first-serve basis via communication.mumbai@afindia.org
