Eight French street-artists will give a French flavour to this edition of the renowned St+Art festival. Along with Indian artists, they will co-create innovative and interactive art. Working with minority communities, they will use art to rejuvenate popular districts, giving shape and colour to a new and sustainable environment.

November 24, 2017 (Fri) – Sassoon Docks

5:30 pm – Inauguration of the French Weekend

November 25, 2017 (Sat) – Sassoon Docks

6pm – Mapping the city’s urban fabric

Faizan Khatri, AWP, Zameer Basrai and Sameep Padora will share different approaches of living. These contemporary practitioners whose work intersects with interior design, urban planning and sustainable architecture will talk about the past, present and future of cities.

7pm – Inside Out Project Screening by Akshat Nauriyal

JR’s Inside Out Project is a photography experiment that deals with commitment, freedom, identity and limits through close-up black and white portraits. Akshat Nauriyal, co-founder and Content Director of St+Art India Foundation, alongside Pranav Gohil, an upcoming photo-artist, has photographed the three marginalized communities currently working in Sassoon Dock will share the process of making the Inside Out Project. This will be followed by a film of the project.

7:30pm – Women are Heroes by JR Screening

Women Are Heroes is a project with many images and little words. JR’s intention is to highlight the dignity of women who occupy crucial roles in societies, and find themselves victims of wartime, street crime, sexual assault, and religious and political extremism.

November 26, 2017 (Sun) – Sassoon Docks

10 am – Graffiti Workshop by LEK

Lek, famous for reclaiming abandoned public spaces for art will conduct a workshop that outlines the process and techniques behind graffiti art. Please register for the same via this link.

7 pm – Ella & Pitr Talk and Screening

Ella + Pitr, the french duo famous for creating art in aerially-viewed spaces will talk about their practices, choices and secrets behind their art interventions. The talk will be followed by the screening of their spectacular aerial videos as well as other works.
