La Chambre à Arles by Van Gogh (1888-1889)

Arearea by Gauguin (1892)

Décoration pour la baraque de la Goulue by Lautrec (1895)

La Chambre à Arles is the title given to each of three similar paintings by 19th century Dutch Post-Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh. Arearea is representative of Gauguin’s first visit to Tahiti in search of traces of a primitive way of life. Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec painted the Moulin Rouge’s first poster. On the first panel of his painting for La Goulue, he invokes elements of the Montmartre dance hall and the Moulin Rouge.
