Backwards Galop, by Bartabas (87’)
Long considered an equestrian utopia, the “backwards gallop” requires the horse and its rider not only to be in full harmony and absolutely in control, but also to have that exceptional ability to move backwards without ever turning their back to the audience. In order to evoke his and the Theatre Zingaro’s career, it therefore felt natural for Bartabas to choose the lofty title with a unique viewpoint: a way of travelling back in time without retracing your steps. Bartabas explore and resuscitate here 25 years of artistic adventures of the equestrian Théâtre Zingaro in a dazzling and original film.
