Waste, by Parasher Baruah

Ciné Liberté is scrutizinizing the waste of our consuming society.

Waste is the story of people who handle our waste. It is a story of three young friends who make a living as waste collectors. Santosh, Sameer and Salman share with us their life and the determined people who make a living picking up the waste of our city. They take us to the 13 (terrah) compounds at Dharavi to show us a glimpse of the fascinating and gritty work of the thousands of recyclers turning plastic, pet bottles, glass, computers, paper, tin drums… into raw materials to be used in our daily lives.

Screening in the presence of the director, Parasher Baruah and followed by a discussion.
